Caper was INCREDIBLE!!!! Ive never been on a more amaizing trip! So background here. Caper is a Paul Mitchell School gathering. the first 30 people in the entire school (of all the Paul Mitchell Schools) get to attend an event in Vegas called Caper. Its kinda like a really cool hair show. Here are some of my photos on our trip!
Kelly Cardenas and Sara Bryan came to our school shortly before caper and I got to chat with them a bit. I actually saw them a few times at Caper. Kelly wants to Open 100 salons in 10 years. I hope he opens one in Boise soon. Because I loved their style. And I would love to work for them.
Me with Sara Bryan

I had never seen a scooter cop. I just had to get a picture!

I found Kelly Cardenas and some more of his group

Added in some school mates

Oh look me and Sara Bryan again...

We got double booked when we got there so it took awhile to get a room but I was more than happy with the one we got!!! Check out our view!

And this is me jumping on the bed

The owner of our school took us on a mini tour of Vegas and we went through some major hotels and saw some cool sites.

Anne and I call this a true self portrait haha

Yes, I touched Caesars butt!

OK are you ready for the BIG STORY!!!
SO i was off to breakfast on the last day, just walking down the hotel when I see none other than WINN CLAYBAUGH!!! Dean of Paul Mitchell Schools and Big guy in Paul Mitchell world. He was just sitting at a table. and people were walking past him! He was going unnoticed! R u kidding me?! so I got a picture with him. I should have remembered to bring my "be nice, or else" book he wrote and had him sign it... oh well.

SO I talk to him for a min or two he tells me Have a great day. Some how I knew it was going to be an AMAZING day!
Later in a color class some cute girl named Tally came up to me out of nowhere and asked me if I would be willing to let Takashi cut my hair! Who is Takashi, Um a famous Paul Mitchell Platform artist... and some say a God of hair cutting. Google him. You Tube him. Incredible. But i had just watched him take a girls hair as long as mine and chop it. So I told her I would be willing to do it if he kept it longer. She talked to him and said it was fine and to meet her after the class.
Needless to say I didnt get ANYTHING out of that color class. I was so nervous I ran out to go to the bathroom and actually ran into ANGUS MITCHELL just walking through the halls while everyone was in classes (yes, I actually ran into him lol)

So of course I got a couple photos! Oh and by the way, Angus Mitchell is the Origional Paul Mitchell's son. In case you didnt know. But he owns his own salon and has made a name for himself in the hair world. (No, he is not touching my boob)

So class finally ends. And I get to meet Takashi!!! Did you know he used to live in
Coeur d'Alene Idaho for a while?

Well his other assistant Onya put some teasy lights in my hair and I had a makeup artist do my make up and wardrobe people! It was so cool!
Here are some photos others got of me on stage!

Finished look. Me on the big screen.

wardrobe outfit. which was basically a 1 piece swimsuit wrapped in scarves so they could fit more sizes. Pretty smart actually

Close up of hair and makeup

I got to stay behind the scenes and get pictures of almost everybody i wanted. Everybody but John Paul DeJoria. He had left already.
I got some after pictures with Takashi, and He signed my bag.

I got another picture with Angus
Me with Dave Holland. Advanced Academy cutting team lead cutting specialist.
I got another Picture with Winn Claybaugh

I had to wait FOREVER to get a picture with Robert Cromeans but it was worth it.

I had the time of my life in Vegas. I feel so lucky and blessed to have had the opportunity that I did. I realize that not many people get to experience Caper or anything in the hair industry like I did. I'm still shocked. I loved being behind the scenes and seeing how things worked. It actually reminded me a lot of event coordinating I did in college, but better, cuz it had to do with hair and fashion!
I could see myself doing something like this someday. High fashion, behind the scenes working on my own modes! But for now I am a mom. I want to work part time while my kids are young because I know " The greatest work you will ever do will be within the walls of your own home" ~Harold B. Lee.
I really missed my family while I was gone. They are my whole world. I have high dreams to be successful hairdresser someday, but a higher dream of being a successful mother and wife. Everything has its time. You wait and see.
Oh and on a side note. I still had Takashi's assistants # in my phone. I messaged her for contact information to send a thank you letter to Takashi, in the process I was asked if I would be willing to be a model for Takashi in a photo shoot sometime. I said yes, but I live in Boise. I haven't heard back since then. I'm not expecting to. But it was pretty amazing to be asked.
